Simuls and Lectures PageLearning from the Masters |
Simultaneous Exhibitions, popularly known as "simuls" are events where a strong player, usually of master strength, plays more than one game at the same time. In most instances, the individual giving the simul wins all the games, though, in rare instances, a few draws and defeats occur.
Most of the club's simuls were given by titled masters. That is, masters who have earned international titles given by the International Chess Federation. These titles are listed below in ascending order:
| International Chess Titles | |
| WFM | Women's FIDE Master |
| WIM | Women's International Master |
| WGM | Women's International Grandmaster |
| FM | FIDE Master |

Lectures are also given at the BUCC by strong players, usually of expert strength. But since it is much easier to give a simul than to talk for an hour on a particular topic, lectures weren't really held that often. The table below lists the lectures held at the BUCC.
